Neuroscience and HR
I've always loved December. Not only is it the exciting lead up to the Christmas festivities, and a time for cosy evenings with friends, we're also approaching the new beginnings of 2019!

The end of a year brings with it a chance to reflect, to celebrate the successes, and to understand what we can do differently for the year ahead. In the professional realm, change can be complex and it is crucial that we recognise that as leaders. Experiencing upheaval or uncertainty that is out of your control, can lead to low engagement and performance as a result. However, "HR Leaders can lead an organisation to success, but it requires insightful leadership. Having an awareness of what is happening within the brain, and how this translates into the behaviours we see playing out in the boardroom – and across the workforce, means that we can influence and shape our organisations."

Join us in our mission to create inspiring leaders, from within...

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced coaches, who wish to enhance their skill set through the application of neuroscience.

The next course will be held from 6th - 12th February 2019.

Women of Brilliance | Amy Cuddy
Amy Cuddy
Best known for her TEDTalk ‘Your body language may shape who you are’, Amy Cuddy posits that body language affects how others see us, and may also change how we see ourselves. Arguing that "power posing" — posture of confidence, even when we don't feel confident — can boost feelings of confidence, and might have an impact on our chances for success.
Amy Cuddy is an American social psychologist, author, and speaker. She is widely known for her 2012 TED talk, where she presented her research on the phenomenon of "power posing". As with most research, it has faced criticism over the years from fellow social psychologists. However, this year, Amy and her collaborators have successfully refuted claims of pseudoscience. "Cuddy’s new academic paper published in March in Psychological Science offers ample evidence (even passes the p-curve test) that adopting an expansive posture makes people feel more powerful. She now refers to the effect as postural feedback rather power posing. Cuddy’s analysis examined over 55 studies and clearly demonstrates a link between expansive postures and feelings of power."

Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People About Race
by Reni Eddo-Lodge

"Exploring issues from eradicated black history to the political purpose of white dominance, whitewashed feminism to the inextricable link between class and race, Reni Eddo-Lodge offers a timely and essential new framework for how to see, acknowledge and counter racism. It is a searing, illuminating, absolutely necessary exploration of what it is to be a person of colour in Britain today."
